The R-User Group is a group of people interested in technology who meet regularly to exchange ideas and thoughts on topics of interest. The group has over 400 members, not all of whom actively participate in events, but boTec has been a long-time supporter of the initiative and often organises events.
During covid, it was impossible to have offline meetings, so everyone was looking forward to Wednesday 29 June, when the group came together for the first time in two years. To ensure everyone’s safety, half of the group met in our meeting room, while others joined via video call.
The event kicked off with a workshop on shiny apps and their benefits, usage and influence on front-end development. The presentation was given by Søren, who also enlightened us on the costs and different approaches to integrating the applications into one’s work. Afterwards, we took the opportunity to sit together for a while and network.
The event was a great opportunity to meet new people and programme, and we look forward to many more to come!
