Blending History, Culture, and Team Bonding
Our team event on Thursday, 21st September 2023, began with a productive meeting in the morning. Following this, we caught taxis and went on a trip that smoothly mixed history, culture, workout, and delicious cuisine.
Our first stop was the renowned Kloster Eberbach, a historic monastery steeped in heritage and charm. When we gathered for lunch at the Klosterschänke Eberbach restaurant, we indulged in a traditional German “Kaltesessen” and toasted with sparkling wine. This historic site, dating back to the 12th century and a UNESCO World Heritage site, provided a fascinating backdrop for our team lunch.
The afternoon unfolded with an exciting tour of the monastery, exploring its rich history, architecture and cultural and economic importance. A visit to the filming locations of The Name of the Rose added to the intrigue of our trip. This blend of history and cinematic allure made our team outing an unforgettable experience.
We then set off on an 8km walk through beautiful vineyards toward our evening destination. Despite the light rain, the walk provided an opportunity for relaxed conversation and team bonding in nature’s beauty. As we made our way along the winding road to the restaurant at Schloss Johannisberg, we enjoyed beautiful views of the Rhine Valley lit by the setting sun.
In this beautiful setting, the restaurant near Schloss Johannisberg was more than just a meal, it was an experience. With stunning views and a menu of delicious local dishes, the estate is renowned for its exquisite Riesling wines. We were treated to a selection of Rieslings, each with a unique flavour profile.
Enjoying delicious food and wines, our team chatted and laughed until late in the evening. The relaxed atmosphere and stunning scenery made for an evening that celebrated teamwork and highlighted our surroundings’ cultural richness.
These shared cultural experiences and team bonding have strengthened our connections, leaving us with valuable memories to carry with us.
