Following last year’s successful event on Lago Maggiore, this year’s European Refinery Technology Conference (ERTC) was hosted in Lisbon, Portugal. Over three days, the conference brought together leaders and innovators from the refining sector, fostering meaningful exchange about current industry challenges and forward-looking ideas and activities.
We were delighted to present about ‘Detecting Deviations in Refining Units through Machine Learning’. In this session, we explored how unsupervised machine learning can proactively detect deviations in production. In doing so, we contributed to the growing demand for data-driven AI approaches to improve operational safety and reduce downtime.
The vibrant exhibition area provided numerous opportunities to engage with a wide range of attendees. From C-level managers to engineers and technology providers, challenges and solutions were discussed, offering both insight and actionable next steps.
The elegant gala dinner was another standout of the event, a tradition that never fails to impress. The evening celebrated industry achievements, featured spectacular entertainment, and provided a wonderful setting to strengthen connections with like-minded professionals.
We look forward to continuing this important exchange in the coming year to further foster collaboration. At the same time, we will continue to focus on developing solutions that help to overcome challenges within the refinery industry.
