boTec DataBridge

One consistent version of your data, across every system you run.

Companies don’t lack software. They lack reliable, consistent data. The same indicator (a stock level, a product format, a delivery date) is recorded differently in every system. The result: reports contradict each other, the correct figure is nowhere to be found, and optimising processes or introducing AI becomes impossible. The boTec DataBridge fixes that at the root.

The problem isn’t your software. It’s your data silos.

An everyday example: Ask three departments how big an apple is. Sales says “medium.” Logistics says “180 grams.” The quality lab says “calibre 70–75 mm.” Nobody is lying, each just measures in its own way. No reliable report, no optimisation: without a single data reference, your figures will never line up.

The boTec DataBridge solves this in three plain steps. Connecting your systems is quick. The real value comes in the next step: harmonising that mismatched data into one consistent version – so everything you build on top can finally be trusted.

Step 3

Three things you walk away with

  • A single source of truth: One consistent version of your data across every system, so reports and decisions finally match. One definition of the apple, not three.
  • Resilience & IT agility: Replace or upgrade any system without disrupting how the business runs. Every business swaps core systems over time – mergers, software retirements, performance and cost.
  • AI-ready data: Clean, harmonised data is exactly the readiness AI needs, so AI and analytics deliver instead of stalling on messy data. AI only performs when the data feeding it is reliable.

FAQ on the boTec DataBridge

The boTec DataBridge provides a central integration layer between different engineering, operational and enterprise systems. It connects systems and makes their information available across system boundaries while maintaining the relationships between objects, data and documents.

It therefore goes beyond simple technical connectivity: the platform understands and maps the structures of the connected systems and enables information to be used consistently across applications and workflows. This allows it to integrate easily into existing IT/OT landscapes.

Traditional point-to-point integration requires individual interfaces between systems. As the number of systems grows, the number of interfaces - and therefore implementation, maintenance and lifecycle complexity - increases significantly.

With the boTec approach, each system is connected once to the integration platform. The platform then provides the common integration logic, reducing the number of individual dependencies between systems and making the overall architecture easier to maintain and evolve.

The connected applications generally remain the systems of record for their respective information. The objective is not to replace SAP, CAE, DMS, EPLAN or other specialist systems with another master system.

Instead, boTec creates the cross-system context needed to understand how information from these different sources belongs together. This allows information to remain in its appropriate source system while becoming accessible and usable in an integrated context.

Data access is designed to provide the required information efficiently while minimising the load on operational source systems. Appropriate mechanisms are used to balance data freshness, performance and resource consumption.

boTec DataBridge can reduce manual data transfer and duplicate data maintenance, improve consistency and data quality, make information from different systems available in a common context, and enable more integrated workflows.

Beyond this integration, the objective is ultimately to improve industrial work processes. Users spend less time searching for, reconciling or manually transferring information and can access relevant information in the context in which it is needed. This reduces the daily effort spent searching for and cross-checking data across silos and enables faster operational decisions. During migrations, the platform can additionally help identify inconsistencies and improve data quality.

The cost of the boTec approach consists principally of the boTec DataBridge, the required connectors/interfaces and the implementation effort for the specific integration scenario.

The relevant economic comparison, however, is not simply “platform licence versus no platform licence.” A point-to-point architecture also requires interfaces to be developed, tested, maintained and adapted whenever connected systems change. The more systems are involved and the longer the lifecycle considered, the more important this effect becomes.

Therefore, the appropriate comparison is the Total Cost of Ownership of the integration platform versus the lifecycle cost of maintaining multiple individual point-to-point integrations.

Fair question - and worth answering plainly. You already depend on every system you run, from accounting to the factory floor. That’s just what running a business looks like. The real question isn’t whether you depend on things, but how hard it is to change them.

Without the boTec DataBridge, replacing one core system means re-doing every connection attached to it - slow and expensive. With the bridge, you change the machine behind the wall without rewiring the house.

And you’re never trapped with us. You can export both your data and the data model itself at any time and run it elsewhere, and you keep using whatever BI, analytics or AI tools you prefer. The boTec DataBridge leaves you less locked-in than the systems you already depend on – not more.

Before you can improve anything, your data has to be consistent and trustworthy.

Let’s map out where your data lives today and build the foundation your efficiency and AI plans depend on.
